Make Dorayaki

Dorayaki is a pancake-like cake originated from Japan. This cake is Doraemon's favourite, with the anka (red bean paste) as the filling, and it tastes sweet. Here's the steps to make Dorayaki.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 80g raw sugar
  • 1tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 50ml water
  • 130g cake flour
  • butter
  • 100g red bean paste
  • 50ml whipping cream chilled in fridge
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar

Steps

  1. Mix the egg, raw sugar, and honey. Add the baking soda that has been poured with 50ml water. Mix well.

  2. Put the cake flour into the egg mixture through a sieve. Mix well. Rest it for 30 minutes.

  3. Put a little amount of margarine on the pan and spread it. Turn on the stove.

  4. Drop the batter with 3.5 inches diameter for each pancake. When the bubbles pop up on the surface of the batter flip it. Wait for about 10 minutes. Take the it and cover with kitchen towel to keep it moist.

  5. Now let's make the filling. Put the whipping cream into a bowl, then mix with 1/2 tbsp sugar on a bowl of ice water using electric mixer for about 2-3 minutes.

  6. Remove the whipping cream bowl from ice water. Gently mix it with red bean paste.

  7. Take 2 pancakes put the paste between them (with the light brown side facing up), then lightly press them into a dorayaki shape.
